Qualities like taste, innovation, sustainability and performance are what matter most to consumers and brand owners 鈥 which is why aluminum beverage packaging takes the lead in the industry. The , developed by the , showcases how the beverage can provides appealing, practical and beneficial features to brands and consumers alike. The campaign is supported by a series of research reports commissioned by the CMI between 2012 and 2015. 

Sustainability

Cans are 100 percent and infinitely recyclable. With a 70 percent recycling rate, aluminum cans are the single-most recycled beverage package in the United States.

Consumers prefer cans not only because they are easy to recycle, but they are also made of recycled material 鈥 reducing environmental impact from start to finish of the product lifecycle. In fact, seven in ten survey respondents said they would purchase a product because its packaging is better for the environment, and more than 80 percent stated that the infinite recyclability of cans matters to them.
